Mac security specialists Intego have alerted the Mac community to the presence of malware in installs for many popular screen savers and at least one freeware app. The malware, called OSX/OpinionSpy, is a variant of a well-known form of Windows spyware which has been circulating for at least two years.
In a widely-reported move, Google has announced that most of its staff would be switching away from the Windows operating system, with many expected to adopt the Mac platform. This decision is expected to ensure that the technology giant is not overly exposed to Windows-specific security threats.
